Mario Bartulovi\u0107 maintains his small vineyard of 3 hectares in Prizdrina, on the beautiful Pelje\u0161ac peninsula, located in southern Dalmatia. He inherited the land from his father, who, together with Frano Milo\u0161, developed the tradition of cultivating Plavac Mali in this area. The vineyard is divided into several plots and cultivated organically, without irrigation and the use of insecticides, herbicides, or fungicides. Mario, known to his friends as Maro, personally takes care of every aspect of the vineyard, from the tillage to wine promotion, which is why there is no need to expand the production. In addition to the grapevine, he soon plans to start producing goat cheese. Life on the land is at the very core of his activity, massively outweighing the urge to make a profit or develop a business empire. The majority of the vineyard, approximately 80%, is planted with Plavac Mali, of which he produces three labels: Bartul, Vrana, and Dinga\u010d. The remaining 20% is dedicated to the indigenous variety Rukatac, also known as Mara\u0161tina, which is offered in both fresh and macerated versions at the Bartulovi\u0107 winery, under the label Obitelj (meaning \u201cFamily\u201d). Mario is part of a trailblazing movement for the development of natural viticulture in Croatia. <\/p>\n
