DARIO PRINČIĆ
I grew up in a place where the vineyard was part of everyday work. My passion comes from my love for the earth and from my heart.
A wine pioneer of macerated wines from Colli, a wine sub-region in the northeast of Italy, located in the heart of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, Dario Prinčić has been cultivating his vineyard since 1988 and adheres to a non-invasive approach to wine production, avoiding the use of synthetic chemistry. All work in the vineyard is carried out manually with minimal use of copper and sulphur. Grapes are harvested and then spontaneously fermented on indigenous yeasts, a process without additives, clarification, filtration, temperature control, or finishing in the cellar. Prinčić’s grapes are macerated in wooden barrels. The duration of maceration depends on the grape variety, varying from 8 days for Pinot Gris all the way to 45 days for Cabernet Sauvignon. He shows exceptional patience and precision in making his wines, often leaving them in barrels for two to ten years before bottling. As a result of his dedication to nature and winemaking, Prinčić has become one of the leading figures in the world of natural wine! Dario Prinčić’s wines are known for their incredible quality, complexity, and evolution through time. His wines of orange or amber colour, regardless of long macerations, can be enjoyed with the ease that only he can achieve!
