BAŠA
„Behind the terms “natural wine” and “biodynamic wine” lies the philosophy of life. It is not enough to put a certificate on the label. It’s a philosophy of life that one either lives or doesn’t live.“
Inspired by the great Joško Gravner, fellow winemakers from Goriška Brda, and a trip to Georgia, which he claims to be a magical country, Bojan Baša decided to plant Pinot Gris on his land in Fruška Gora in 2010. At first, everything started as a hobby, an escape from the city crowds and stress into the world of nature and peace. However, a passion for viticulture and winemaking developed, and at some point, Bojan completely replaced the banking world with the world of grapevines. Today, he has a little more than five hectares of vineyards, which are cultivated according to organic and biodynamic principles. The focus of the work is to strengthen biodiversity, soil, and vine health, as well as to intervene as little as possible. Just like his winemaking role models, he dabbles with longer macerations of white varieties in the cellar. This results in extremely complex, expressive, and pure wines, originating primarily from the vineyards.
