KMETIJA ŠTEKAR
„We start producing the wine in the vineyard because it all starts with beautiful, tasty, and healthy grapes.“
In one of the most beautiful wine regions, in the Goriška hills in the village of Kojsko, one can find ecologically grown, terraced vineyards of Tamara and Janko Štekar, and the vineyards’ age averages 40 years. Stretching over six hectares, between the Adriatic Sea and the Julian Alps, in harmony with nature, respecting its changes and preserving all of its benefits, by listening closely and applying sound logic, Janko and Tamara produce some of the most characteristic and terroir-rich wines of this area. Their specialty is white macerated wines that are aged for several years in old oak and acacia barrels. In addition to the structure and unique aromas, they are rich in live acids, which makes their wines suitable for longer aging.
