Andrej and Nadja - Naboso winery

NABOSO

“We produce wine because we love it, and the entire process gives us so much joy. We often end up with good wines in glasses and realize: “This is what we love to do!”

Nadja and Andrej live in the small town of Svätý Jur, just a 10-minute drive from Bratislava, in the heart of the wine-growing region of the Little Carpathians. Nadja, born in Germany, has gained experience in Austrian wineries, while Andrej has been producing wines and has garnered impressive knowledge of the craft for more than a decade. On 5 hectares of their organic vineyards, which are located on granite soil, this dynamic duo produces wines with exceptional precision and character. They experiment with longer macerations of white varieties and shorter macerations of red varieties, which gives their wines a distinctive style. Their wines are aged in wooden and acacia barrels, ranging in size from 225 to 600 litres, thus bestowing them with a special layer of complexity. In the cellar, everything functions on the principle of gravity, with minimal sulphite intake. Their goal is to make stable and enjoyable wines, without any flaws, and, if you ask us, they certainly succeeded in their endeavour. The name “Naboso,” which means “barefoot” in Slovak, brilliantly reflects their philosophy: Wines that are stripped of everything unnecessary, authentic, and in complete harmony with nature.
